From the 8th until 9th February the Workshop on “India-EU FTA: For Whom?” will take place in New Delhi.
On the 5th December 2011 the press conference and the lobby briefing will take place in Berlin
From the 6th until the 7th December 2011 the Expert Seminar "Strengthening the Role of Human Rights in the EU Trade Policy" will take place in Brussels.
On 8th December 2011 the public conference "Human rights and the EU-India Free Trade agreement: A joint conference" will take place in the European Parliament.
On the 9th December 2011 the Strategy Meeting of the Eco Fair Trade Dialogue will take place in Brussels
On the 24th October the interactive media workshop for NGOs will take place in Prague
Hence the questions on how to give more strength and weight to right-based, alternative forces empowering the poor to be more in control over food production and markets and protecting the natural base from which we live? How to make policies, particularly EU´s Common Agriculture Policy soon to be reformed, more coherent with these and fair for European farmers?
Current agricultural production, its markets and trade in agricultural goods are not able to cope with these challenges. Developments in food prices during 2007/08 provided a glimpse into the future, when average international market prices suddenly increased by more than 100 per cent and over 150 million more people were severely affected by hunger.
